Happy For You

Today I’m sharing a card for a friend who is starting a new adventure as she & her husband are moving to another state.  They will be moving into a brand new house and exploring the opportunities available to them in their new city.  Although I’m sad to say good-bye, I am truly happy for her!

Happy For You

I really like the color combination over at this week’s CCMC challenge, so I used those colors again for this card.  I thought the little house from the 2015 Sale-a-bration set, You Brighten My Day, is just perfect for this card.

Here’s the details:

I started with a Smoky Slate base.

Using my Stamp-a-ma-jig, I stamped  3 houses in Blackberry Bliss on Whisper White card stock.  The sun is from the Kindness Matters stamp set and is stamped in So Saffron.  Another house is stamped in black on Soft Sky card stock and punched out with the What’s Up punch.  It is popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The scalloped edge on the Blackberry Bliss panel is cut using the Small Scallop rotary cutting blade – love that blade!

The sentiment was created using words from Crazy About You.  I was able to mount them on one block and stamp the phrase all at once in Blackberry Bliss.

You Made My Day

March CC CardThis is one of the cards made in my Coffee & Cards group this month.  It demonstrates a couple of techniques that add  “Wow!” factor.

The first technique is another use of an embossing folder.  By inking the raised side of the Honeycomb Embossing Folder in Sahara Sand, placing a piece of Whisper White cardstock over the inked surface and lightly rubbing around the cardstock, a subtle honeycomb background is created.

To create the layered sun image, position the oval with the sentiment onto the background and secure with a post-it note.  Then stamp the sun image from Kinda Eclectic onto both layers.  Remove the oval, adhere it to a larger Rose Red oval and pop up the sentiment layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Happy Birthday

As I post this card, we are enjoying a beautiful warm day in Nebraska.  I know it’s just a teaser of spring weather, but so nice!  The lovely pastels in the Best Year Ever DSP used to make this card also have me looking forward to spring.

Again, the wonderful sketch from the Paper Craft Crew provided the inspiration for this birthday card.  I just rotated the sketch to work with the sentiment from the Because You Care stamp set which is a host set in the 2015 Occasions Catalog.

PCCCS127 Sketch

I often get my inspiration from sketch challenges and today’s card was inspired by this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge.  To create this card, I used three free items from the current Sale-A-Bration promotion  – the Big Day stamp set, the Best Year Ever DSP, and the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack.  Until March 31, 2015, you can earn one free product from the Sale-A-Bration catalog with each $50 order of Stampin’ Up! products.  There are ten great products from which to chose.
