Brusho Birthday

The Brusho Crystals create fun, unique backgrounds.  I used a combination of Prussian Blue, Gamboge, and Yellow crystals for the background of this birthday card.  The bright colors just seem to say “Celebrate!”

A couple of tips when using the Brusho Crystals:

  1. Use a light touch when shaking the crystals onto the paper.  The pigment in the crystals is intense.  You can always add more color.
  2. Another very important tip is to NOT remove the lid of the containers. You can use a push pin to pierce a small hole in the lid which will allow you to sprinkle lightly.  This will also prevent a disaster if the container is accidentally dropped.

To make this card:

  • Card base – Lemon Lime Twist cardstock cut 5.5″ x 8.5″, scored at 4.25″
  • Island Indigo cardstock cut 3.75″ x 5″
  • Watercolor Paper cut 3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″
  • Spritz the Watercolor Paper & sprinkle with the Brusho Crystals. Sprintz again to blend the colors.
  • Using the Happy Celebrations stamp set, stamp the outline letters with Versamark ink onto a 1.75″ x 4″ strip of Island Indigo yardstick.  Heat emboss with White Embossing Powder.  Fussy cut the individual letters and adhere to card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Stamp the rest of the sentiment with Island Indigo ink onto an 1/2″ wide strip of Thick Whisper White cardstock.
  • Layer this onto a 3/8″ strip of Pumpkin Pie cardstock.

Hold On To Hope

The Stampin’ Up! catalogs are always full of beautiful samples and we are encouraged to CASE  them.  For this card, I started with the tag on p. 27 of the 2018 Occasions catalog which features the Hold on to Hope stamp set.   I’ve seen two definitions of CASE’ing.  One is Copy And Selectively Edit.  The other is Copy And Share Everything.  For this card, I would say I went more with the second definition, but put the “tag” on a card rather than a gift.

The Paper Players sketch challenge PP378 gave me the layout for the card.

Notice the dimension on the cross – isn’t that awesome?  Just use a shim under the cutting plate as you cut out the cross with the corresponding Cross of Hope framelit die.  The background paper is from the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper, which is one of the Free Sale-A-Bration products with a $50 purchase.

Thanks for stopping by!

Another Valentine

Today I’m sharing a card my Coffee & Cards group made this week using products from the Painted with Love Suite in the 2018 Occasions Catalog.

The Painted with Love DSP is so pretty with lovely color combination and gold accents.  For this card, I started with a Whisper White base and added a panel of Rich Razzleberry.   Next, I added a banner cut from one of the DSP prints.  The heart image and sentiment are both from the Sure Do Love You stamp set and are cut out using the coordinating framelits.  The heart is stamped in Calypso Coral and the sentiment is embossed in gold.

The Sure Do Love You stamp set and Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies are offered as a bundle which will save you 10%.  Purchase a package of Painted with Love Specialty DSP with the bundle and you earn a free item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog!  These items can all be purchased from my Online Store.

You’re My Valentine

I hope your new year has started out well!  I’ve enjoyed some extra time to play with a few of the beautiful new products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2018 Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs.

I often struggle with where to start on a new card and find that online challenge blogs are a great source of inspiration.  Today I’m sharing a card inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge #280.

You're My Valentine - HSS #280

This card features a few products from the Painted with Love product suite in the Occasions catalog.  The Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper is absolutely gorgeous!  Each sheet has gold foil accents on one side and brushstroke imagery on the other.  This card makes use of both.   The gold foil doily pairs so nicely with the DSP.  Notice the tinsel trim behind the heart?  What a fun way to add some bling.  The sentiment is one from the Sure Do Love You stamp set.  It coordinates with the heart image in the same set.
