SSC126 – Creating a Scene

SSC126

ssc126fThe designers over at Sunday Stamps have a fun challenge and some great creations to inspire.  The challenge is to use the sketch on the left and create a scene.

To create my scene, I used an Oval Framelit to cut the “hills” from a piece of Cherry on Top DSP and sponged the edges in Cucumber Crush.  The sun is from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set and stamped in Daffodil Delight.  Small clouds from the Balloon Celebrations stamp set were added in Pool Party, stamping off once before stamping onto the card.  The affectionate couple is from the Beautiful Ride stamp set.  The image is stamped onto a piece of Shimmery White cardstock, colored using a Blender Pen, and then cut out.  The sentiment from the Express Yourself stamp set and is stamped in Watermelon Wonder onto a small Whisper White banner.  The scene is adhered to a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock and placed onto a Pool Party card base.

Be sure to visit Sunday Stamps to see who all is “creating a scene.”

Two items used to create this card are retiring May 31, 2016, and can be ordered through my Online Store:

A Toast to 50 Years of Marriage

Golden Wedding Anniversary

Celebrating 50 years of marriage is certainly worthy of a toast, as well as lovely touches of gold.

To create this card, I layered a piece of Gold Fancy Designer Vellum Foil onto Whisper White card stock and adhered that to a piece of Gold Foil Sheet. Then I added a small length of Gold Sequin trim using the handheld stapler before adhering this panel to the card base.  The champagne glasses, from the retired Happy Hour stamp set, are stamped in Soft Suede. Two small pieces of Gold Glimmer paper create the champagne inside the glasses.  Using the Gold Stampin’ Dazzle Marker, I added some “bubbly”.  The image was punched out with the 2″ Circle Punch and layered onto a Gold Metallic Doily.  The sentiment, from the retired Express Yourself stamp set, was embossed in gold.

Just Add Typography!

Well, this is one of those cards that has had good intentions but there’s a story with it.  Last Friday’s challenge at Just Add Ink! was to use typography, which is defined as “using font or type to create print”.  I thought it would be fun to see what I could do with that challenge and created this card.  By the time I was ready to post the card, I had just missed the deadline for the challenge.  But, I had another reason for this card – to wish our good friends a Happy Anniversary, thinking it was on June 28th.  As I was looking at my calendar yesterday, I saw that yesterday was their anniversary!  So now this card has been late twice!

Typography AnniversaryTo make this card,  I pulled out several stamp sets with appropriate sentiments.  Then I put my Stamp-a-ma-jig to work and played around with the placement of the words.  The colors I used are Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon, and Smoky Slate.

The retired stamp sets used are A Word for You, Banner Blast, What’s Up, and Yippee-Skippee!

Happy Anniversary

Today is the 11th anniversary of our wonderful daughter and son-in-law and of course, I had to send them a special card. Something to Say Anniversary I CASE’d this card from Robin Feicht’s entry to the MOJO Monday 397 sketch challenge.  I started with a Basic Black card base and used different prints from the Stacked With Love Designer Series Paper Stack in the 2015 Spring Occasions Catalog for the background panel, banner, and the punched hearts.  The Spring Occasions Catalog expires June 2, 2015, so be sure to order this paper stack before then.  The sentiments are from the Something to Say stamp set. For a final touch, I wrapped Whisper White Baker’s twine around the card twice and made a few loop before using Stampin’ Dimensionals to “pop up” the hearts.

I’m wishing them many more happy anniversaries!
