Yesterday, we celebrated Steve’s birthday. It was a busy day for us, ending with a fun dinner with our friends, Kim & Pat. Kim is a fellow stamper and created this card for the occasion.
Isn’t this a great masculine card – very clean & simple. In fact, I’ve already CASE’d it as I needed to get one in the mail today for our son-in-law’s birthday! Be sure to visit Kim’s blog to see her other awesome creations!
Listed below are the Stampin’ Up! products I used to create my card. The Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack is currently available on the Clearance Rack for just $2.79. I also used the HSSSC #221 sketch over at the Handstamped Sentiments challenge blog.
I hope you have a fabulous weekend!
This week’s Mojo Monday Sketch is just perfect for the sentiment from the Happy Birthday, Everyone stamp set. Several cards have been posted for this challenge using the sentiment, and here is my version.
I have to admit, I wasn’t sure what I would do with the new Stampin’ Up! color, Cucumber Crush. But, what a fun color with the Cherry on Top DSP! I will definitely be using it again.
I followed the sketch very closely, using the Small Scallop Rotary Blade for the Stampin’ Trimmer to give a decorative edge to the Watermelon Wonder panel, and layering a couple of stars.
Next week, I’ll be attending the annual Stampin’ Up! convention in Salt Lake CIty. One of the fun activities during the convention is to swap cards with fellow stampers and this is one of the cards I made to swap.
Thanks for stopping by!

I thought this sketch from Sunday Stamps was perfect for the new Happy Birthday, Everyone stamp set. And, I was excited to use the new English Garden DSP as well. It seems that most of the cards I’ve made recently have used some shade of blue, so I decided to use this print in Mossy Meadow and Hello Honey.
To make this card, I stamped Happy Birthday in Mossy Meadow. Using the watercolor flower from the Petal Potpourri stamp set, I inked the image in Hello Honey and “stamped off” to get a softer image behind the sentiment. The center of the flower is in Soft Suede and also “stamped off” first. I added a small banner in Hello Honey with “for you” stamped in Soft Suede and tied a bow with Soft Suede taffeta ribbon.
