Stampin’ Up! Well Written Easter Card

Today, I’m sharing another Easter card.  This one features the Well Written dies.

The color palette was inspired by the Sunday Stamps Spring Fever color challenge.

When I think of Easter, the pretty pastel colors come to my mind.  So, using these brighter colors for an Easter card was a fun change for me.  I started with a piece of the burlap print from the Pressed Petals DSP for the background.  It’s adhered to a Very Vanilla card base.  Next, I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to a Soft Suede layer.  The Well Written dies were used to cut the stems from Granny Apple Green cardstock and the small flowers and butterfly from Calypso Coral cardstock.   I stamped the sentiment from the Easter Promise stamp set in Calypso Coral ink on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it out using the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies. I felt that the card still needed some extra little details and decided lace and pearls work well with burlap.  I took a piece of the Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim and adhered it to the back of the sentiment in a zigzag fashion.  This is popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Finally, pearls were added to the center of the flowers and butterfly.

Team Stamp It Blog Hop – Easter

Welcome to the Stamp It Group Blog Hop!  I hope you are all staying healthy during this pandemic, and am glad you are taking time to be inspired by our Easter and Spring creations.  A bright spot in these days of sheltering at home is to take walks outside and enjoy seeing the bulbs blooming and lawns starting to turn green – signs that spring is on the way.

Today, I’m sharing an Easter card featuring the Easter Promise stamp set and Petal Labels Dies.

To make this card:

  • Start with a Soft Sea Foam card base.
  • Cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Shimmery White cardstock.  Center the large Petal Labels die on this piece and run through a die cutting machine.
  • Using the leftover center piece from the die cut, center the sentiment and stamp in Basic Gray ink.  Cut it out with the second largest oval die in the Stitched Shapes Dies collection.
  • Color the flowers using Stampin’ Blend Markers in the following colors – Dark Mint Macaron, Light Highland Heather, and Light Daffodil Delight.
  • Cut a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Soft Sea Foam DSP.  Adhere this behind the die cut flowers.
  • Cut a 20″ piece of Whisper White Flax Ribbon.  Pull out two strands of the ribbon and tie around this layer.
  • Adhere this to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Finally, pop up the sentiment also with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Inside the card, I used the Stamparatus to position the small cross next to the Easter sentiment.  These are stamped onto a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using Basic Gray ink.  The small leaves are colored with the Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends marker.

I decided to try a couple of other color combinations.

The Purple Posy card has a piece of the Embossed Vellum from Saleabration behind the flowers.  The Petal Pink card uses the gingham design behind the flowers with the Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon tied around it.

Easter Cross of Hope

Easter often brings to mind springtime, bunnies, and Easter eggs.  The cross is a symbol of the true meaning of Easter – Christ’s crucifixation & resurrection for our salvation.  Here is an Easter card I made using the Hold on to Hope Bundle in the 2018 Occasions Catalog.

To make this card:

  • Cut a card base in Berry Burst – 5.5″ x 8.5″ and scored at 4.25″
  • Cut Pool Party – 5″ x 3.75″
  • Cut Whisper White – 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″
  • Stamp floral stem in Pool Party
  • Use the Layering Oval Framelits to cut a scalloped oval from Silver Foil paper and a smaller oval from Whisper White
  • Use the Crosses of Hope Framelits to cut a solid cross from Berry Burst and the detailed cross from Silver Foil
  • Use Basic Gray Stampin’ Write marker to color the border of the banner.  The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set is stamped in Berry Burst.  Use the banner framelit to cut out the banner and adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Add the small butterfly stamped in Berry Burst and a Glitter Enamel Dot in the middle of the cross.

SUO Challenge – Easter Fun!

suo143 - Easter FUn!

Our unusually warm weather here in Nebraska, along with an early showing of plants coming up in the yard, has inspired me to make some pretty spring cards.  And the Easter Fun! challenge over at SUO Challenges #143 was just what I needed to get going on Easter cards.

While browsing Pinterest for Easter ideas, I came across  Brenda Quintana’s video on how to make a cross using the  Modern Label punch which was the inspiration for this card.  Aren’t the lovely pastels in the Birthday Bouquet DSP just perfect for a spring card?

Here are the details to make this card:

  • Whisper White CS – 4 1/4 x 11 folded
  • Mint Macaron CS – 4 x 5 1/4
  • Birthday Bouquet DSP – 3 3/4 x 5
  • Add a Tea Lace Paper Doily
  • Whisper White CS – 2 3/4 x 4 1/2.  Use the Modern Label Punch to make the cross.  Since I was using the old whale style punch, I needed to use a slightly narrower piece of paper than Brenda used in her video.
  • Kinda Eclectic – stamp the sunburst in Crushed Curry
  • Soft Suede CS -2 1/2 x 4 1/4.  Emboss with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and attach behind cross, then add to card using Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Delightful Dozen (retired) — stamp sentiment in Soft Suede
  • Mint Macaron CS – Punch two leaves with the Bird Builder punch and trim
  • Something to Say – stamp small flower in Blushing Bride onto Blushing Bride CS and punch with the Itty Bitty Accents flower punch
  • Add a small pearl
